It is officially time to start gearing up for the big race in November! The New York Road Runner's 16 week training doesn't start until July 8th, but I think it's never too early to start training for a big race.
The actual race doesn't happen until Sunday, November 4th but the New York Road Runners require that you participate in 9 of their races before the Marathon in November. I'm already on my way with 4 completed!
Last Sunday I competed in a small 5 mile race called the Italy Race by Ferrero. It was a chilly day in Central Park but it didn't stop runners in all shapes and sizes from coming out and enjoying the race in their white, red, and green. All of this is to raise awareness about Obstetric Fistula and help eradicate the condition throughout Africa.
